PD Dr. Christian Growitsch
has been Director of Applied Research and Member of the Management Board of the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne from September 2010 to July 2014. He also taught at the University of Cologne as Associate Professor (Privatdozent) of Economics.
After studying business administration, economics and social sciences in Hamburg and Lüneburg, Dr Growitsch earned his doctorate at the University of Lüneburg and the University of Cambridge. In May 2010 he qualified as a professor at the University of Halle-Wittenberg. From 2007 to 2010 he headed the Department of Energy Markets and Energy Regulation at the WIK Wissenschaftliches Institut für Infrastruktur und Kommunikationsdienste (Scientific Institute for Infrastructure and Communication Services) in Bad Honnef. The focus of his current economic research and politico-economic consultation lies in the field of empirical applied microeconomics.
PD Dr. Christian Growitsch still supports the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne in selected research projects.
