More than just an institute
EWI is known for both excellent fundamental and applied research and for excellent support for the next generation of energy economists. However, as an institute with more than 60 years of history, EWI strives to reach out even more. In particular, EWI nurtures and maintains an energy economic network, which offers sponsors, graduates and the friends of EWI, as well as all interested parties, the option to contact and remain in contact with EWI.
The EWI community, consisting of the Society of Benefactors, the EWI Alumni Association and the Pool of Sponsors, represents a forum, in which private individuals and companies can exchange ideas on matters concerning energy economics, within an academic and yet sociable framework.
In addition, the Theodor-Wessels-Stiftung awards the Theodor Wessels Prize once a year.
