Research assistant (f/m/d), focus on decentralised energy systems and digitalisation

We are looking for you as soon as possible for the position of Research Assistant (f/m/d) for the research area Decentralised Energy Systems and Digitalisation for the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne gGmbH (EWI).

Your tasks

  • Collaboration in practice-oriented research and industry projects in the area of decentralised energy systems and digitalisation.
  • (Further) development of tools for modelling decentralised energy systems and for analysing model results (e.g. Python, Excel)
  • Literature research on energy industry and policy issues

What you offer

  • Current Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, industrial engineering, engineering, computer science or mathematics with reference to energy
  • Interest in energy management issues
  • Very good analytical thinking skills as well as an independent, reliable, thorough and structured way of working
  • Economic and ideally technical understanding of energy systems
  • Initial experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, EXCEL VBA)
  • Knowledge of data science and machine learning is an advantage, but can also be learned in the course of the job
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
