EVENT FOR MASTER STUDENTS – The energy transition needs YOU!
February 1, 2023 | cologne | Are you looking for a job where you can make a difference? Then join us!

Coal phase-out, heating transformation, combustion phase-out, gas emergency plan – the list of
catch phrases in the climate and energy crisis is long. But how to move towards climate neutrality
in modern industrial societies? How do we need to shape energy markets to achieve national,
European, and global climate goals? How could electricity prices change, if everyone would drive
electrically in the future? Will hydrogen become the number one energy carrier in the future?
As a researcher at EWI, you will analyze these climate-relevant issues and many more. In an
interdisciplinary team, you generate insights on salient energy topics for research, business and
politics. In particular, you will use, develop, and advance complex simulation models of energy
markets.
You may join EWI either as a research associate after having obtained your M.Sc. or right now as a
student research assistant. Research Associates have the option to pursue doctoral studies in
parallel to their position at EWI, yet this is not compulsory.
We are looking for students from a broad range of disciplines, in particular from e.g. economics,
management and social sciences, geography, meteorology and other natural sciences, information
science, mathematics etc. Key requirement is a keen interest in conducting economic research on
one of the 21st century’s defining challenges: Energy.
Have we caught your interest?
