Julian Quinting is a junior professor of energy meteorology at the University of Cologne’s Institute of Geophysics and Meteorology and a research scientist at the Institute of Energy Economics (EWI). His research interests lie in the field of atmospheric dynamics and predictability on medium-term to sub-seasonal time scales. He is particularly interested in generating probabilistic forecasts based on machine learning and linking them to energy market models. Julian was previously a junior research group leader at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
