According to the coalition agreement between the CDU, CSU and SPD, the hydrogen core network is to be expanded to include pipelines in the south and east in order to connect additional industrial centers and hydrogen storage facilities. In this analysis, the EWI compares the current planning of the core network with production sites in the aluminum, lime, cement, glass and paper industries as well as with existing cavern and pore storage facilities for natural gas storage.
