Final Report of the Virtual Institute Smart Energy (VISE), Subproject "Regional Virtual Power Plants

Download pdf, 4 MB

Within the scope of this project, four business models and their associated aggregation concepts for the deployment of Regional Virtual Power Plants (VKWs) were developed and evaluated. These focused primarily on the marketing of flexible technologies at the household level, located in a spatially limited section of the medium- and low-voltage grid. A model system was developed with the goal of providing an integrated analysis of the economic viability and grid serviceability of the business models described.

The aim of this system was to map the generation and demand behavior of decentralized plants in an exemplary distribution grid. In doing so, the plants were marketed in an optimized manner on the basis of the identified business models and the effects of marketing on the grid were investigated. The results of the study lead to the conclusion that the different business models can be economically viable.
