Oliver Ruhnau is assistant professor for energy market design at the University of Cologne and research scientist at the affiliated Institute for Energy Economics (EWI). His research interests lie in the field of energy economics and the sustainable transition of energy systems, including flexible electricity demand in current and future electricity markets. He has (co-)developed several numerical energy market models and applies statistical methods for causal inference. Previously, he was a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher at the Hertie School in Berlin.
