MSc ETH ME Jakob Peter
has been a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne since February 2014. In parallel, he has been a research associate at ewi ER&S since June 2015.
He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) and Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg with focus on energy technology, fluid dynamics and numerical mathematics. As a scholar at the UNITECH international program he focused on energy economics and worked for several cleantech-enterprises and -startups in Switzerland, Germany, Scotland and El Salvador. After his studies, he was a consultant for Sustainable Investment Partners, the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) as part of the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs. Mr Peter's research primarily focuses on market integration of renewable energy technologies and the economic and technical modelling of power systems.
