Research Associate – including the possibility of a doctorate (m/f/d)

We are looking for you as soon as possible for the position of Research Associate (m/f/d) – with the possibility of a doctorate for the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne gGmbH (EWI).

Your tasks

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of German, European, and global energy markets
  • Analysis of current issues regarding decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization of the energy system
  • Implementation of consulting projects for industrial clients and political decision-makers
  • Acquisition, planning, and implementation of longer-term research projects
  • Contribution to studies and workshops with our network partners
  • Writing short articles on current developments of the electricity/gas market
  • Presenting results to executives from the energy industry and politics
  • Working hours: Full-time

What you offer

  • Excellent degree in economics, industrial engineering, engineering, or other quantitative subjects with economic relevance
  • Well above average analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Profound knowledge of the German and the European electricity/gas market is an advantage
  • Knowledge of computer-based modeling is an advantage
  • Creativity for solving complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written expression and reasoning skills in German and English language
  • Confident, customer-oriented appearance
