Michael Moritz, M.Sc., joined the EWI in 2020 and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cologne. He works on modelling energy systems and markets. His research focuses on the heating transition, the development of global hydrogen and hydrogen derivative markets, and the global gas market. Methodologically, he specializes in optimization models and techno-economic analyses. Before joining EWI, Michael Moritz studied environmental engineering with a focus on process engineering at the RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and the Chalmers University of Technology Gothenburg (Sweden).
